Úna Barrett is a gerontologist, certified care manager and home safety expert with Positive Living Solutions LLC, Cambridge, MA. With expertise in how our mind, body and social abilities change over time, Úna focuses on improving the lives of older adults and their families to provide a greater sense of security for all.
Úna supports families as they navigate the complexities of caring for loved ones, particularly when work, family commitments or living in a different city present challenges for adult children. Services include assessing homes for safety, coordinating and accompanying loved ones to medical appointments, providing caring companionship, and managing living transitions over time.
Úna, born in Ireland, obtained an M.S. in Gerontology from UMass Boston. Earlier in her career in the real estate and moving industries, she learned that homes were generally not designed for lifetime living. Through the study of home modifications, universal design and fall prevention, Úna developed the expertise to help homeowners have safer, more fulfilling lives.
